“To the angel of the Church of Ephesus, write these things:” says He Who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks.
“I know your works, and your labor, and your patience. And how you cannot bear with those who are evil; and have examined those who say they are Apostles and are not and have found them liars.
“And you were burdened and had patience; and for my Name’s sake have labored and have not fainted.
“Nevertheless, I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love.
“Remember therefore from where you have fallen. And repent and do the works you did at first. Or else I will come against you shortly and will remove your candlestick out of its place unless you repent.
“But this you have: that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
“Let him who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches, ‘To him who overcomes will I give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.’
“And to the angel of the Church of the Smyrnians write: ‘These things says He who is first and last, Who was dead and is alive:
“I know your works and tribulation and poverty. But you are rich. And I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not but are the synagogue of Satan.
“Fear none of those things which you shall suffer. Behold, it shall come to pass that the devil shall cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you shall have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful to the death, and I will give you the crown of life.’
“Let he who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He that overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.
“And to the angel of the Church which is at Pergamos write: ‘Thus says He Who has that sharp sword with two edges,
‘I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s throne is. And you keep My Name, and have not denied My faith; even in those days when Antipas, My faithful martyr, was slain among you where Satan dwells.
“But I have a few things against you because you have those there who maintain the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel so that they would eat of things sacrificed to idols and commit fornication.
Even so, you have those who maintain the doctrine of the Nicolaitans (which I hate).
Repent, or else I will come to you shortly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
“Let he who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who overcomes, I will give to eat of the manna that is hidden; and will give him a white stone; and in the stone a new name written, which no one knows except he who receives it.
“And to the angel of the Church which is at Thyatira write: ‘These things says the Son of God, Who has eyes like a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass.
‘I know your works and your love, and service and faith, and your patience; and that the works of those at the last are more than those at the first.
‘Notwithstanding, I have a few things against you: that you put up with the woman, Jezebel. She calls herself a prophetess; to teach and to deceive my servants, to make them commit fornication, and to eat meat sacrificed to idols.
‘And I gave her space to repent of her fornication, and she did not repent.
‘Behold, I will cast her into a bed - and those who commit fornication with her into great affliction - unless they repent of their works.
‘And I will kill her children with death. And all the Churches shall know that I am He who searches the deepest motives and hearts. And I will give to every one of you according to your works.
‘And to you I say, ‘The rest of them of Thyatira, as many as have not received this learning, nor have known the deepness of Satan (as they speak), I will put upon you no other burden.
But to that which you have already, hold fast till I come.
‘For he who overcomes and keeps My words to the end, to him I will give power over nations.
‘And he shall rule them with a rod of iron. And as the vessels of a potter, shall they be broken.
‘Even as I received from My Father, so will I give him the Morning Star.
‘Let he who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.’”
