hem'-dan (chemdan, "pleasant"): A descendant of Seir, the Horite (Ge 36:26). Wrongly translated "Amram" by the King James Version in 1Ch 1:41 (the Revised Version (British and American) "Hamran"), where the transcribers made an error in one vowel and one consonant, writing (chamran), instead of (chemdan).
